Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Apigee Developer to design, develop, and manage enterprise-grade API solutions using Google Apigee. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API development, management, security, and performance optimization, and will play a key role in enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing digital integrations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage APIs using Apigee API Management Platform (Apigee Edge / Apigee X).
• Create and configure API proxies, shared flows, and policies for security, traffic management, and mediation.
• Implement API security policies such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, Spike Arrest, Quota, and SSL/TLS.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate backend services including microservices, legacy systems, and third-party applications.
• Perform request/response transformations using JavaScript, XSLT, and JSON/XML policies.
• Manage API lifecycle including versioning, deployment, and retirement.
• Configure and manage API products, developers, and apps in Apigee.
• Monitor APIs using Apigee Analytics, logs, and custom dashboards to ensure performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot API issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with architects, backend developers, and DevOps teams to align API strategy with business needs.
• Support CI/CD pipelines for API deployments using Maven, Jenkins, Git, or similar tools.
• Ensure APIs follow organizational standards, governance, and best practices.
• Provide documentation and support for API consumers using OpenAPI/Swagger and Apigee Developer Portal.
• Participate in production support, on-call rotations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Apigee API Management (Edge and/or Apigee X).
• Proficiency in RESTful API design, HTTP protocols, JSON, and XML.
• Experience with API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Hands-on knowledge of JavaScript, Java, and policy configuration in Apigee.
• Familiarity with API lifecycle management and governance.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Knowledge of Git-based version control and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to Kafka, MQ, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with API monitoring tools and logging frameworks.
