ECD plays a critical role as it adds value to Bain's case teams globally by supporting them with analytics and research solutioning across all industries, specific domains for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.
Who you will work with
Strategy and Transformation (S&T) CoE regularly collaborates with Sr. stakeholders (Sr. Partners, EVPs) from Bain’s Strategy & Transformation Practice and works with Bain case teams across the globe on strategy / transformation case requirements.
The work spans across industries with variety of analysis including but not limited to industry/sector analysis and scans, analyzing disruptive themes and evolving start-up ecosystem, Investment analysis, M&A and Corporate venture capital Scans, Digital heuristics identifying key trends/drivers/challenges, survey analysis, etc.
Additionally, the team also supports Global S&T Practice in managing CEO Forums and Podcasts that entails developing IPs / POVs / Tools and managing communication with senior Bain Stakeholders, including Partners, Practice leadership as well as Marketing team and third-party vendors.
What you’ll do

Work in a team setup, under the guidance of Project Leader/Managers, playing a key role in project execution and driving the team’s overall answer, final materials, client communication, work planning, and team management

Conduct deep-dive research (leveraging various internal repository tools, subscribed databases, online literature/reports, etc.) to produce high-quality, client-ready reports focusing on business insights and actionable results

Use thought leadership and sound business judgment to drive their own and their team let's research and analysis.

Take responsibility for assigned work streams (and work-streams of 1-2 analysts), identify relevant tools and sources, steer analysis to create powerful insights, while ensuring high quality of work.

Leverage AI prompts and tools to generate initial hypothesis on the problem as well create solutions that help deliver faster while ensuring the accuracy of the analysis

Wherever needed, build a solid understanding of emerging innovative themes and disruptions and their impact on business models (industry-agnostic)

Understand client requirements and resolve complex issues across work streams, generate and screen realistic answers based on sound reality checks, and recommend actionable solutions

May need to manage a team of 1-3 analysts and provide feedback, review support and coach them on task execution and role responsibility

Consistently seek and provide meaningful and actionable feedback in all interactions; recognize different skills and development needs in oneself and work towards it About you

Relevant experience of 2-5 years for undergraduates and 0-3 years for post-graduates in a global professional services firm environment with exposure to business research and consulting. Experience in leading a team of at least 1-2 members is preferable

Identify and employ relevant research sources and analytical tools to ensure timely, high-quality and zero-defect output. Ability to quickly come up to speed on different workpieces and perform research and analysis across geographies and industries in a quick turnaround environment. The candidate should be able to provide solid business judgment to derive answers in situations where data is not easily available or explicitly published

Strong preference for candidates with high proficiency in business communication and with an experience of working with leadership; able to interface with primary client contact i.e. Bain case teams from global offices

Ability to structure approaches to answer complex business questions. Should be able to cross-link multiple business models and industries dynamics, using key drivers/KPIs behind operational and financial performance.

Excellent skills in Microsoft power-point and excel are required

Candidate should have knowledge of using GenAI to generate initial hypothesis using nuanced prompts and must have basic Knowledge of Python; experience of creating tools and solutions using AI will be an added advantage What makes us a great place to work
