Foundational Linux Architecture & Strategy

  • Own the Linux foundational software architecture across AMD Embedded/x86 SoCs, covering kernel, BSP, drivers, and platform enablement layers.
  • Define and execute a single, scalable Linux foundation strategy supporting Ubuntu, Yocto, and long-term LTS kernels across current and future products.
  • Drive upstream-first engagement with the Linux community, ensuring AMD features land cleanly in mainline and are sustainable over product lifecycles.
  • Align Linux foundational strategy with SoC roadmaps, product longevity requirements, and security/compliance expectations.

Linux Development Leadership* Lead teams responsible for kernel enablement, BSP bring-up, device drivers, and feature enablement across CPU, IO, graphics, multimedia, power management, RAS, and real-time domains.

  • Oversee pre‑silicon Linux development using emulation and virtual platforms to enable left‑shift software readiness.
  • Ensure consistent Linux feature enablement across SoC families and multiple market segments without customer-specific forks.

Linux Validation & Quality Ownership

  • Own system-level Linux validation spanning silicon, firmware, drivers, OS, and virtualization layers.
  • Define validation scope, coverage, and quality metrics (e.g., readiness, DPPM, stability, security posture) across NPIs and sustenance programs.
  • Drive robust validation for bare metal, virtualization (Xen/KVM), power, stress, reliability, and lifecycle use cases.
  • Ensure foundation Linux stacks meet both internal quality gates and external customer expectations.

Automation, Infrastructure & Tooling

  • Lead Linux validation automation strategy, including CI/CD pipelines, build systems, test frameworks, and artifact management.
  • Own usage and evolution of validation and debug tooling across platforms (simulation, emulation, silicon).
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, scalability, and signal quality of Linux validation pipelines.

Cross‑Functional Leadership & Program Execution

  • Partner closely with core engineering groups across silicon design, firmware/BIOS, platform emulation, hardware validation, program management, and product teams.
  • Represent Linux foundational status, risks, and readiness in executive reviews and cross‑org forums.
  • Balance NPI execution, feature velocity, and long‑term sustainment across multiple concurrent SoC programs.

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Build, scale, and mentor high‑performing teams across Linux development, validation, and automation.
  • Set technical direction, establish career paths, and maintain high engineering standards.
  • Create a culture of ownership, upstream responsibility, quality, and execution discipline.
