About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager who can lead the development of scalable, secure, and high performance backend systems for our financial technology platform. This role requires someone who is technically strong, actively codes, makes architectural decisions, and mentors a growing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize core components of a financial technology platform.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Own technical architecture, system design, and high level engineering decisions.
• Ensure best in class security, performance, reliability, and code quality.
• Collaborate cross functionally with product, data, and business teams.
• Drive code reviews, engineering best practices, and mentorship for junior developers.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Required Skills

• Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js.
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, distributed systems, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus.
• Experience with Microservices architecture.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, Git, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).
• Frontend understanding: JavaScript, React.js, HTML, CSS (not core but beneficial).
• Experience using AI assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) is an advantage.

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including managing and leading technical teams
• Proven experience in building high volume or transactional systems (fintech/payments preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to take ownership, drive technical decisions, and mentor engineers.
• A mindset of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation.
