Job Description:
Looking for a Senior Software Tester with 5–7 years of experience in merchant service operations, with strong expertise in manual testing and hands-on exposure to merchant onboarding, underwriting, KYC/KYB validation and end-to-end merchant lifecycle validation. The candidate should be comfortable working as an individual contributor, while also being willing to take on additional responsibilities when needed. T

Key Responsibilities: I
n* dependently analyse business and functional requirements to design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases covering merchant onboarding, underwriting, merchant profile management, and payment workflows, including positive, negative, and exception scenarios. D r* ive smoke, functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing while validating merchant workflows, document verification, approvals, rejections, and payment processing flows. C o* llaborate closely with product, development, operations, compliance, and business teams, perform detailed peer reviews, track defects effectively, and communicate testing progress, risks, and release readiness with clarity. I d* entify opportunities for automation and contribute towards improving automation coverage and overall test efficiency.

equired Skills:
St* rong understanding of STLC, defect lifecycle, and manual testing approaches including functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and workflow-based testing. H a* nds-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI, along with strong SQL skills for backend validation and data verification. E x* posure to automation frameworks or experience in automating merchant onboarding, underwriting, or workflow-based applications will be an added advantage. E x* cellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently drive activities while also supporting team coordination responsibilities.

echnical Expertise:
De* ep understanding of merchant onboarding and underwriting workflows, including merchant application intake, document verification, business classification, underwriting review, approval/rejection handling, and merchant activation. H a* nds-on experience and strong analytical skills in validating merchant onboarding, merchant transactions, residual processing, fraud/risk scenarios, and payment gateway integrations including authorization, settlement, reconciliation, refunds, chargebacks, recurring payments, disputes, and transaction monitoring. G o* od knowledge of merchant risk categorization, MCC mapping, transaction limits, reserve handling, fraud indicators, high-risk merchant scenarios, and exception handling. S t* rong understanding of merchant management portals including merchant profile updates, terminal allocation, user management, onboarding status tracking, pricing changes, and merchant activation/deactivation flows.
