Main responsibilities:

As a Functional Expert MES , you will support the Digital Product Owner in designing, deploying, and operating a compliant, scalable MES solution across Opella manufacturing sites.

You will act as a key functional authority on the Tulip platform, translating consolidated business needs into robust functional designs, supporting global rollouts, and ensuring system stability, compliance, and continuity over time.

You will also play a central role in driving digital transformation initiatives, promoting best practices, enabling user adoption, and ensuring that MES capabilities evolve to meet business needs.

This role is in close collaboration with:

• A Business system owner
• The Digital Product Owner
• System Integrators, site teams, and global digital stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Functional Analysis & Solution Design

• Contribute to functional discussions with business stakeholders based on consolidated requirements prepared by the business system owner
• Translate business needs into functional MES designs and specifications , primarily covering: eOEE, eBR, In‑Process Controls (IPC) and Weighing & Dispensing (W&D)
• Define application logic and functional behaviors leveraging Tulip’s low‑code platform , ensuring: Scalability across multiple sites, alignment with Opella global standards and long‑term maintainability

System Implementation & Rollouts

• Support global MES deployments across sites, including system configuration and setup, validation activities (in coordination with Quality and business teams), Go‑live and hypercare support
• Collaborate with system integrators to ensure: Compliance with Opella methodologies, guidelines, and governance and proper functional design and documentation
• Work with business teams to support smooth adoption and operational readiness.

Release and Change Management (Tulip Platform)

• Act as a key contributor to Tulip release management , including assessing functional and compliance impacts of new Tulip releases, supporting on regression analysis and change impact assessments and ensuring production environments remain GxP compliant
• Coordinate required activities prior to production updates, including, validation impact evaluation and support to business-led testing and acceptance
• Support the Product Owner in defining release strategies and deployment readiness across sites.
• Ensure documentation remains aligned with system evolution and release changes

Operational Support & System Monitoring

• Provide 3rd‑level functional support for MES-related issues.
• Monitor and help safeguard: System health and performance, data quality and consistency and functional stability across sites
• Escalation point of contact for complex functional or design-related topics supporting the digital product owner

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor operations (W&D, Batch Record, In Process Controls, etc.) and manufacturing KPIs (eOEE, Plant Cycle Time, etc.).
• Experience with MES systems as key user, functional expert or Product owner. Especially in eBR (Electronic Batch Record) and eOEE capability.
• Experience in deploying digital solution in regulated environments (GxP) is a plus.
• Fluent in English
• Familiar with Agile methodologies is a plus
• Excellent analytical capabilities; ability to break down complex problems and structure clear solutions.
