Job Title: Mainframe Developer / Specialist (IBM i, COBOL/400)

Location: Bangalore

Work Mode: 5 Days Work From Office

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Developer / Specialist with strong expertise in IBM i (AS/400) and COBOL technologies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the banking and payments domain, along with solid development experience in COBOL/400 and working knowledge of Java to support integration and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform
• Develop and enhance programs using COBOL and COBOL/400
• Work on banking and payments systems, ensuring high availability and performance
• Analyze business and functional requirements and convert them into technical solutions
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, QA, and production support
• Support production systems, incident management, and root cause analysis
• Contribute to system enhancements and modernization initiatives involving Java

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in IBM i (AS/400) platform
• Hands-on expertise in COBOL and COBOL/400
• Proven experience in Banking and/or Payments Domain
• Good working knowledge of Java
• Experience in batch processing, job scheduling, and performance tuning

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of DB2/400 and SQL
• Familiarity with CL programming
• Exposure to payment systems (e.g., cards, SWIFT, ACH, RTGS, NEFT)
• Experience with system integration and APIs
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Experience in legacy system modernization projects
• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines

Pay: ₹16,224.32 - ₹89,800.30 per month
