$200k is probably a little bit high for first employee at a startup and % is a little low. (In my experience). 1%-2% is good for employee 2-5/6. But in the right ball park. I'm helping a 6 person SF profitable seed+ startup now hiring 3rd engineer. Comp tops at $200k + 1%
