Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive the technical direction of our platforms. With 8 to 12 years of experience, you aren’t just writing code—you are designing systems. You will be responsible for the architectural integrity of our React/Node stack, mentoring mid-level engineers, and making critical decisions on infrastructure, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture: Lead the design of scalable, distributed systems and microservices using Node.js.
- Technical Leadership: Set engineering standards, best practices, and tooling choices for the frontend and backend teams.
- Mentorship: Act as a technical lead, providing guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers to foster a culture of excellence.
- Performance & Security: Oversee the security posture of our applications and optimize system architecture for high-traffic environments.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical debt management with the product roadmap.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of React.js internals and advanced Node.js patterns (Event Loop, Streams, Worker Threads).
- Architectural Depth: Proven experience in designing microservices, implementing caching layers (Redis), and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and influence cross-functional teams.
- Testing & DevOps: Expertise in TDD/BDD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and managing complex deployment workflows.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Nice to have: Typescript
Other desired qualities
- Technical Roadmap Contribution: Influence the product roadmap by identifying technical opportunities or risks that non-technical stakeholder might miss.
- Design Review Authority: Lead architectural design reviews, providing critical feedback on the scalability and security of systems proposed by other teams.
- Tooling & DX (Developer Experience): Build or implement internal tools, libraries, and CI/CD enhancements that improve the productivity of the entire engineering organization.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead the investigation of complex, cross-system production incidents and implement systemic fixes to prevent recurrence.
- Prototyping & R&D: Conduct "Spikes" or Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) for new technologies (e.g., evaluating a move to a new framework or database) to de-risk major technical shifts.
