Software Engineer - PHP Laravel Backend Developer

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using PHP and Laravel Framework .
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience working with React JS to develop and maintain admin tools/dashboard interfaces , including integrating backend APIs, building reusable UI components, and enhancing user experience for internal management applications
• Write optimized queries and manage database schema using MySQL and MS SQL Server .
• Experience with Docker and containerized environments
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
• Develop technical specifications and ensure implementation aligns with business requirements.
• Build reusable, scalable, and high-quality code and shared libraries.
• Follow engineering best practices, coding standards, and secure development principles.
• Work closely with QA, DevOps, product teams, and stakeholders for end-to-end delivery.
• Maintain documentation related to system architecture and development processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development lifecycle, patterns, and practices.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in PHP development .
• Hands-on experience with Laravel Framework .
• Database experience with MySQL and MS SQL Server .
• Experience with JavaScript , jQuery , and React JS .
• Good understanding of REST APIs and MVC architecture .
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) , and Design Patterns .
• Experience working in Agile development environments .
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of Automated Testing and CI/CD pipelines .
• Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
• Performance testing exposure using JMeter .
• Experience with version control systems ( GitLab / GitHub / Git ).
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
