Week-by-week plan
Weeks 1–2: Build your PI dossier
Write one page each for:
- Academic story — 10th → 12th → graduation, gaps, dips, stream switches
- Work / projects — 3 STAR stories with numbers
- Why MBA / Why IIM — goal, gap, why now, why this school
- Home state & current affairs — Governor, CM, 5 national + 5 business headlines
If you cannot explain any line on your application form, that is your first revision list.
Weeks 3–4: Drill and get challenged
- Rehearse a crisp 60–90 second introduction
- Practice answering under interruption (panels cut you off)
- Run at least 2–3 CAT mock interviews and note weak dimensions (academics, stress, current affairs)
Generic “tell me about yourself” practice is not enough — you need panel-style follow-ups on your CAT profile.
Final 1–2 weeks: Polish, don’t cram
- Revisit only weak dimensions from mock feedback
- Refresh RBI, budget, and business news from the last 60 days
- Sleep and timing matter more than new content dumps
What “ready” looks like
You are ready for the interview after CAT when you can:
- Defend every mark trend without bluffing
- Quantify your impact at work (or projects)
- Answer “Why MBA?” without leadership clichés
- Stay calm on a guesstimate or Plan B question
